Terry came across Tyson Energy Solutions through a Google search for the best insulation company in the Fresno area as he was researching how to help keep his attic cooler during the summer. He wanted his attic to be cooler during the extreme heat of the Central Valley summers because he wanted to help protect his HVAC system and roof from heat damage. Terry had been reading about attic fans and wanted to see if his home was a good candidate for one. We came out and inspected his attic and found that he was indeed a good candidate.

We installed the solar attic fan and it immediately began to work to ventilate the heat out of the attic and draw cooler outside air in. This reduction of heat will help his HVAC system to work less hard and will also keep his roof shingles from getting damaged by the extreme heat in the attic, which can be 30-40 degrees hotter than the outdoor air.

The attic fan we installed will help his attic stay cooler, which in turn will help his home stay cooler. It will also impact the efficiency of his HVAC system and have a protective effect on his roof. He can expect a more comfortable temperature in his home and reduced heating and cooling costs. The QuietCool fan also has a 15-year warranty, and because Tyson installed it, any repairs or warranty claims will be handled by us, free-of-charge.

Steve was referred to us by another Tyson customer who’d had work done and was pleased with the results. Steve had an uninsulated area in his home that he wanted insulated to make it a more comfortable temperature and to help reduce his heating and cooling bills. The area was a 350 sq. ft. room  so it made up almost 20% of the space in his home.

We began the project by air-sealing visible leakage points with closed cell foam. This is done to help prevent airflow between the home’s living spaces and the attic. We installed baffles to prevent the insulation from blocking the soffit vents, ensuring that the attic’s ventilation would remain intact. We then blew in premium fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, which is the Energy Star-recommended level for our climate in the Fresno area.

Because of the insulation added in Steve’s home, he will experience an overall more comfortable temperature in his home and reduced heating and cooling costs for as long as they reside in that house.

Amy contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because her home had been uncomfortably warm during the summers for years and she was ready to make a change. We inspected her attic and found that her insulation was low — only 5 inches compared to the recommended 14 inches. We determined that an insulation upgrade to bring her up to Energy Star standards and a whole house fan would greatly improve her life.

We began by sealing visible air leakage points with closed-cell foam to help prevent the hot attic air from flowing into the living spaces of the home. Next, we located the ideal area to place the whole house fan and installed the QuietCool Stealth Pro 5.5. Lastly, we blew in premium fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches.

As a result of the insulation upgrade and whole house fan installation, Amy and her family will enjoy reduced cooling costs by up to 90% and a more comfortable temperature in her home year-round for as long as they live in their home.

Melanie contacted us because she had a 1000-square-foot mother-in-law suite behind her main house that was constantly hot and stuffy during the summer and frigid during the winter. When we came out and inspected the attic, we discovered that it had no insulation present and was scattered with roofing debris. We determined that an insulation upgrade was needed in order to help Melanie make the home comfortable and also reduce her heating and cooling costs.

We began by air-sealing visible leakage points with closed-cell foam to prevent air from traveling between the attic and the home’s living spaces. We then added 13 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation, bringing the attic up to an R38 level, the current Energy Star recommendation.

As a result of the work we did, Melanie and her family will enjoy a cool, comfortable home during summer, and warmer home in winter, and reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30% for the life of their home.

Krista contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because she believed her insulation was low. Her home was cold in the winters and hot in the summers, and she was becoming increasingly concerned about her heating and cooling bills. We came out to investigate and found that her attic only had about 5 inches of old, dirty insulation. We asked Krista if any of her family members had any health concerns and she told us that her two children had allergies. Because of all these factors, we decided that a complete attic restoration was in order.

We first removed all of the old, contaminated insulation from her attic. We then thoroughly cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer in order to eliminate contaminants and irritants that may have been contributing to her children’s allergies. Next, we installed rodent-proof barriers to keep rodents and other pests out of the attic during the winter months and we sealed off other holes, gaps, and cracks using closed-cell foam. This included wire and plumbing penetrations, top plates, registers, and recessed lighting. This provides additional protection from air flowing between the attic and the home’s living spaces. Lastly, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a depth of 14 inches, bringing the home to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level of protection.

Because of our thorough work on Krista’s attic restoration, she reports that not only is her home more comfortable temperature-wise, but she has seen a drastic reduction in her heating and cooling bills — despite the rising cost of energy. Her children’s allergies have also been virtually eliminated. They will be able to enjoy these benefits for as long as they live in the home.
