Alvaro contacted Tyson Energy Solutions because his air conditioner was running constantly and his heating and cooling costs were high year-round. He was looking for a permanent fix that would help reduce his bills. When we came out and took a look in his attic, we discovered that he only had about 3-4 inches of insulation present, with a lot of roofing debris scattered throughout. We determined that a comprehensive attic restoration would best meet his needs.

We began by removing the old insulation and disposing of it. We then cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer in order to eliminate any contaminants or irritants. Next, we thoroughly air-sealed leakage points such as plumbing and wiring penetrations, recessed lighting, registers, and top plates. We also installed rodent-proof barriers to prevent rodents and other animals from entering the space. To finish, we blew in fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches.

As a result of the full attic restoration we completed, Alvaro’s air conditioner will run less frequently while cooling the house more effectively than before, and his heating and cooling costs will be reduced by up to 50% for as long as he lives in that house.

The homeowner contacted us because her home was cold in the winter, hot in the summer, and extremely dusty. The indoor air quality was so bad that her cat was suffering from allergies. When we inspected her attic, we discovered that there was evidence of rodent activity, including an HVAC duct that had been gnawed through and was covered in rodent feces. We determined that the best course of action was an attic restoration and replacement of the broken duct.

We began by sucking out all the old, contaminated insulation and disposing of it. We then replaced the broken duct and cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer, which helps eliminate contaminants and irritants. Next, we meticulously air-sealed leakage points including top plates, registers, recessed lights, and plumbing/wiring penetrations. At this point, we also installed rodent-proof barriers to keep rodents and other pests from re-entering the attic. Lastly, we blew in 14 inches of premium, fiberglass insulation to bring the attic to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.

As a result of the duct replacement and attic restoration, the homeowner’s heating and cooling costs will be reduced by up to half and the indoor air quality will be greatly improved as the attic air is no longer contaminated with rodent feces and won’t be flowing freely into the living spaces of the home.

The customer faced elevated heating and cooling bills due to having only 4 inches of insulation in the attic. Following the installation of new ductwork, the subsequent measure was to increase the insulation depth to 14 inches, aiming to optimize energy efficiency and reduce utility costs.

Attic restoration at its finest! We removed old insulation, sealed the area, and installed new R-38 fiberglass insulation. Experience a refreshed, energy-efficient attic space like never before.

Kevin contacted us because his home felt uncomfortably warm and his air conditioner came on frequently, despite the fact that it was only May and not the Central Valley wasn’t even into the hottest summer months yet. He was concerned about his home’s ability to stay cool during the summer as well as the resultant cooling bills. When we came out and inspected his attic, we found that Kevin barely had any insulation in his attic, only about 3-4 inches. His attic also felt particularly hot due to improper ventilation, which was heating up his HVAC system and ducts and causing it to work overtime to attempt to cool the house. We determined that an attic restoration and installation of an attic fan was needed for him to achieve his goals.

We began by removing all of the old insulation. Next, we installed the QuietCool Smart Gable Attic Fan 3.0 to help cool his attic by automatically bringing in cooler outside air. We then cleaned and sanitized the attic using DSV sanitizer so that any contaminants and microbes were eliminated. We also located air leakage points and sealed them off using closed-cell foam. This helps to prevent the flow of air between the attic and the home’s living spaces. To prevent rodents and other pests from entering the attic space during winter, we installed rodent-proof barriers at any potential entry points. Lastly, we blew in premium, fiberglass insulation to a height of 14 inches to provide the Energy Star-recommended R38 protection.

As a result of our comprehensive attic restoration and installation of the smart gable attic fan, Kevin and his family will enjoy a cooler, more comfortable house during hot months, a warmer home during winter, reduced heating and cooling costs by up to 30%, and better indoor air quality for the life of their home.
