Attic Restoration with Air Sealing & Premium Fiberglass Insulation in Fresno, CA

Joan reached out to us because her home was constantly uncomfortable, with her HVAC system struggling to keep up. When we inspected her attic, we found the root of the problem—only 6 inches of old fiberglass insulation, which was far below the recommended level. This lack of insulation allowed heat to transfer freely, making her home inefficient and difficult to cool in the summer and warm in the winter. To fix this, we performed a full attic restoration and upgraded her insulation to the Energy Star-recommended R38 level.

We started by safely removing the old, ineffective insulation and thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the attic with Nisus DSV disinfectant to eliminate dust, allergens, and contaminants. Next, we sealed all air leaks around top plates, plumbing penetrations, and electrical wiring using closed-cell foam, preventing conditioned air from escaping. We also secured any potential rodent entry points to keep pests out. Once the attic was properly prepped, we blew in premium fiberglass insulation to an R38 level, ensuring optimal thermal performance and year-round comfort.

Thanks to this attic restoration, Joan’s home will now stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, with lower energy bills and improved indoor air quality. Another successful project by Tyson Insulation!
