Full Attic Restoration with R38 Fiberglass Insulation in Fresno, CA
Bruce reached out to us from Fresno because his home was struggling to stay cool, even with the AC running constantly. After conducting a thorough inspection, we quickly pinpointed the issue: only 4 inches of old cellulose insulation in the attic. That’s well below the recommended level, and it wasn’t just the lack of insulation—there was also visible debris, signs of rodent intrusion, and general attic contamination.
To bring Bruce’s home back to top shape, we started with a full attic restoration. First, we removed all the old cellulose insulation using our industrial vacuum system. Once cleared, we thoroughly cleaned and sanitized the attic using Nisus DSV, a powerful disinfectant that eliminates harmful bacteria, mold, and viruses.
Next, we sealed all air leakage points—including around electrical wiring, plumbing penetrations, and registers—using closed-cell foam. This crucial step helps stop air from escaping into the attic and improves energy efficiency throughout the home. We also addressed any potential rodent entry points to prevent future infestations and cleared the soffit vents to restore proper ventilation to the attic space.
Finally, we blew in 14 inches of premium fiberglass insulation, bringing Bruce’s attic up to an R38 rating—the Energy Star recommended level for our region.
Bruce can now look forward to a cooler home in the summer, improved air quality, and significant savings on his energy bills for years to come.
